Day 1 in Washington, DC was packed with impactful discussions and key moments—from the Commissioners Meeting to insightful keynotes by Kellyanne Conway, Former Counselor to President Trump, and Diane Sabatino, Acting Executive Assistant Commissioner at U.S. Customs and Border Protection, and thought-provoking mainstage panels like “Tariffs are Taxes.” We also had the privilege of recognizing outstanding leaders and contributors to the industry with two well-deserved AAPA awards, the Distinguished Service Award and Port Person of the Year Award. No matter how well-intentioned, vessel speed restrictions severely diminish the flow of commerce through our nation's gateways and make the already difficult jobs of harbor pilots and mariners more dangerous. America's ports thank the Federal Government for making the right decision to withdraw the NARW Vessel Speed Restriction rule and look forward to supporting precision technology to preserve and protect marine life. https://lnkd.in/epnitt-2
