Compensation is a battleground in 2025. Employees expect more—driven by pay transparency and rising living costs—while many companies are pulling back on raises, lowering salary offers, and hiring less experienced talent. This tension is creating a perfect storm that could lead to disengagement, high turnover, and difficulty attracting top talent. The Problem: Rising Expectations vs. Employer Cutbacks -18% of employers are reducing pay increases, 15% are hiring less experienced talent, and 14% are lowering salary offers. -Pay raises are set to drop to 3.5% in 2025, down from 3.8% in 2024. Median voluntary turnover fell to 13%, but disengagement risks are rising. -Only 57% of companies are conducting pay equity analyses, down from 62% last year. -One-third of employees (33%) feel negatively about their pay, up from 23% in 2023, with 50% struggling to make ends meet.
