Clinical Pathways Congress + Cancer Care Business Exchange转å‘了
The?Journal of Clinical Pathways?is celebrating 10 years of advancing clinical decision-making! As part of our anniversary, we’re sharing testimonials from past contributors and experts. Rebecca Maniago, PharmD, BCOP, director, clinical oncology at Flatiron Health, reflects on the impact of the journal, including her coauthored article which found that Flatiron Assist, an EHR-embedded clinical decision support tool, offers greater coverage of treatment scenarios with custom preferred pathways compared to NCCN Preferred options, highlighting its potential to enhance guideline-concordant cancer care and support oncologist decision-making. "As an oncology pharmacist with over 6 years of experience developing and implementing clinical pathways tools, I’ve seen firsthand how powerful these tools can be in improving patient outcomes, streamlining treatment decisions, and supporting the overall care process. But I’ve also experienced the challenges that come with integrating them into practice. Whether it’s overcoming resistance to change, making sure we’re incorporating the best available evidence, or keeping pathways updated and relevant, it’s an ongoing effort. Working through these hurdles is crucial if we want to fully realize the benefits clinical pathways can offer. The Journal of Clinical Pathways has been an invaluable resource throughout my career. It helps me stay up to date on the latest research and best practices and provides a space to connect with other healthcare professionals who are navigating many of the same challenges. It’s also given me opportunities to contribute my own knowledge, especially around oncology clinical pathway optimization, and receive meaningful feedback that’s helped shape my approach. This kind of exchange has been key to my growth as a pharmacist. The Journal of Clinical Pathways has become a vital part of my professional development, helping me bridge the gap between theory and practice and deepening my commitment to advancing patient care through evidence-based solutions."
