With no way to share his exact location, our team stepped in, providing live geo-coordinates and a tracking link to local responders. Thanks to the seamless collaboration between our operations team and National Park Services, he was located and brought to safety. Behind the Scenes with the Overwatch x Rescue Crisis Response Team! Meet Eric Mayranen, Overwatch x Rescue’s Operations Support Specialist (OSS) Supervisor at the Crisis Response Center (CRC). A seasoned crisis response leader with a distinguished background as a U.S. Navy veteran, Eric brings over 15 years of experience in managing and instructing dive operations to his current role. He oversees day-to-day operations at the CRC, ensuring that every #SOS call is handled with precision and care. Career Highlights from Eric: ?Leveraged his U.S. Navy and Lead Instructor at Medical Training in Austere Conditions (MTAC) experience to train and lead specialized military and government teams in advanced search and rescue operations, emergency extractions, and safety. ?A certified master scuba instructor with three agencies, Eric’s knowledge in underwater tactics and emergency extractions is unparalleled. ?Gained hands-on experience in volunteer mountain rescue growing up in the White Mountains of New Hampshire, and later collaborated with the Military's Mountain Rescue Course instructors through MTAC. ?Captained, sailed, and lived aboard his own 45-foot sailboat, navigating between the Keys, the Caribbean, and the Bahamas. ?Contributed to underwater fiber optic operations ?Volunteered with Sea Shepherd Conservation Society ?Worked as a second officer on several motor yachts, held his captain's license, and managed boat transport and operations as a side job. ?Combines his hands-on experience in maritime and wilderness rescue with Overwatch x Rescue’s cutting-edge technology to deliver the best outcomes for adventurers in distress. From maritime rescues to mountain expeditions, Eric’s passion for ensuring the safety and well-being of outdoor enthusiasts is evident in every operation he oversees. A dislocated hip left him immobile and in excruciating pain at 11,500 feet. With no cell service, Jerry activated his Spot device, and the Overwatch x Rescue Crisis Response Team sprang into action to coordinate a rescue. With over 25 years in Emergency Medical Services (EMS) and critical care air transport, Stephanie brings an exceptional level of expertise to our global operations. Collaborating closely with our Chief Medical Officer, she oversees medical intake, triage, case management, and transports worldwide, ensuring every detail is expertly managed. Career Highlights from Stephanie: ?Began her EMS journey as an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) in 1993, later becoming a certified Paramedic and Field Training Officer. ?Awarded Paramedic of the Year for her Outstanding Service to the Community. ?Served as a Senior Flight Paramedic, providing global critical care in air ambulance transports and educating medical professionals in critical care transport techniques. ?Former Transport Manager for a membership-based air ambulance company, coordinating air evacuation, commercial medical escorts, and repatriation services. ?Holds an Associate Degree in Nursing, further solidifying her medical expertise. Stephanie’s dedication to safety and care is an integral part of our commitment to supporting adventurers worldwide, wherever their journeys may take them. With her extensive experience and bilingual skills in Spanish and English, Stephanie is a vital asset to the Overwatch x Rescue team, ensuring you have expert support when it’s needed most. ??
