At SubjectToClimate, we're committed to aggregating resources for educators and sharing exemplar lessons that include them. But we're starting to notice critical climate data missing, datasets disappearing, and reports being altered. If you've noticed climate data, reports, or resources being removed or altered, drop them in the comments! I know there are ongoing efforts to track this, but sometimes a simple heads-up—like when Dave Kramer shared that the EPA EJ Screen is now available here https://lnkd.in/gRh7Tzyd make a big difference for educators. Hoping this helps climate educators and those working in climate education quickly identify and access critical data in my network! #ClimateData #ScienceMatters #ClimateEducation #OpenAccess

A lot of people are worried about losing access to US federal data that may go off-line, or already is. You’re not alone—but duplication isn’t the answer. Many ongoing efforts have already archived key datasets. Instead of starting from scratch, check out these existing resources and, if you can, support their work. First, there's the End of Term Archive: https://lnkd.in/gQxaYEJc Instructions: Scroll to Collection Search section, select "End Of Term (US Gov 2024)" from the menu and type in your query Then, there's this Harvard effort focused on climate and health data: https://lnkd.in/gtHgtG3G and the Public Environmental Data Project doing the same: https://lnkd.in/gSmzThFy and a larger Harvard effort with 16 TB of every dataset on data.gov https://lnkd.in/gV9FwHUp Stanford is running a federal data collection program and accepting submissions here: https://lnkd.in/gpFc5wYE And finally, I highly recommend this much, much longer list of ongoing efforts collated by Syracuse University's library, and all the links therein: https://lnkd.in/g_EbAmhC Please add any other resources you’d like to highlight in the comments!
