Located in Portland, the University of Oregon's executive MBA program is designed for mid- to senior-level professionals who wish to pursue their degrees while continuing to lead full time. Oregon Executive MBA students attend class twice a month, on consecutive Fridays and Saturdays. Starting September 2024, all classes will take place at the University of Oregon's new campus in Northeast Portland. To qualify for admissions, applicants must hold an undergraduate degree, demonstrate at least three years of managerial or leadership experience, and have at least five years of career-related work experience. The average age of Oregon Executive MBA students is 37 and more than 50 percent of current students have families with children at home. Last week, I had the privilege of presenting at the Faculty Athletics Representative Association (FARA) Annual Meeting in Dallas. My session, "The FAR Consultant: Empowering Student-Athlete Success Through Data, Influence, and Strategic Consulting", focused on how Faculty Athletics Representatives (FARs) can leverage data, build influence, and adopt a consulting mindset to support student-athletes in their academic and athletic journeys. Some key highlights from my talk included: ?? Data-Driven Approaches – Using tools like APR, GSR, and qualitative feedback mechanisms to create actionable, evidence-based recommendations. ?? Relational Engagement – Building trust and networks across campus to be a human bridge between student-athletes, faculty, and administration. ??? FAR GPT – Exploring AI-driven solutions to streamline reporting, generate insights, and support strategic advocacy in collegiate athletics.
