The N.C. legislature created a bold solution to one of our state’s most pressing challenges--finding and keeping great teachers in the classroom--through Advanced Teaching Roles grants. Now the TIP Opportunity Culture Consortium is showing the power of collaboration to use these grants to their fullest. With Wake County Public School System serving as the lead applicant, the initial consortium cohort of five ATR districts has accelerated progress by pooling resources and sharing insights to design strong teaching team models. They're exemplars for cross-site collaboration that drives innovation, cost savings, talent sharing, and student learning results while addressing staffing shortages. What if a teaching team leader in one school district took on two more team teachers — who just happened to be nearly three hours and six districts away? That's the pioneering collaboration this year between Edgecombe County Public Schools and Rockingham County Schools. what Thanks to EducationNC for letting us and The Innovation Project tell how! https://lnkd.in/erc_iGGB

Teachers, do you want AI coaching you? Or would you like an instructional coach who's accountable for the results of your students, in there with you day to day, knowing your students and helping analyze student data and leading lesson planning, and who has student growth results to back up the coaching they provide? A new report in Education Week looking at AI starts with the wrong premise--that instructional coaching is inherently pricey and hard to scale. Opportunity Culture teaching teams prove otherwise, with proven educators in the #MultiClassroomLeader role leading small teams, for more pay, within regular school budgets--and survey results showing strong educator satisfaction for these teams and their support.

Thanks to Education Resource Strategies for highlighting the #OpportunityCulture strategic staffing work in Ector County ISD! We congratulate ECISD for making their stipends significant and sustainable—for teaching team leaders, that's $16,000, funded through school budget reallocations. That allows them to have stipends that are 4X as much as Mesa, the other profiled district, is able to pay with stipends as a district line item. ?
In this latest #LinkedInNewsletter, we share two new case studies that reveal how leading-edge districts adopted innovative #teaching models to make the job more dynamic, rewarding, collaborative, and sustainable. And they did it with minimal additional ongoing costs. #SchoolLeaders #TeachersOfLinkedIn #teachers
