Hunting isn't about the most miles hiked, the biggest buck, or the latest gear.
关于我们
- The Okayest Brand In Hunting - + Our mission is to make it “okay” to hunt however you hunt for whatever you hunt for. It’s not about the most miles hiked, the biggest buck or the latest gear. We believe hunting is about having fun, and making everlasting memories. +We are just a couple of average hunters, aka Okayest Hunters. Our mission is to make it “okay” to hunt however you want and for whatever species you want. It’s not about the most miles hiked, the biggest buck, or the latest gear. We believe hunting is about having fun, and making everlasting memories. +Our hunts are not measured in inches, but in the memories made. The memories that turn into stories told around the campfire and the times shared with friends and family, are what hunting is all about.

A bow season packed with family obligations, work, and travel left Eric with only five hunts. On his fourth, he hit a buck but couldn’t recover it, despite what looked like a lethal shot. Thankfully, a thermal drone confirmed the buck would survive, but it wasn’t the outcome anyone hopes for. After stepping back to recharge and nearly calling it quits, Eric decided to squeeze in one last bow hunt before Wisconsin’s rifle opener. True to Okayest Hunter form, he forgot his saddle. Battling an upper respiratory infection, armed with cold meds and cough drops, he made a makeshift ground blind in the canary grass. As last light crept in, a small buck passed within 10 yards. Eric made a lethal shot from the ground. This buck brought redemption, confidence, and a smile—especially when Eric’s daughter asked, “When can we eat it?”

Firearm season is a special time for whitetail hunters. For many, the next couple of weeks will make up the entirety of “deer season.” While many of you reading this like to participate in all manners of whitetail hunting like myself, we do, however, realize that the average whitetail hunter is predominantly a firearm hunter. Multiple reports put the estimated number of firearm hunters in the United States between 10 and 11 million. The NDA also reports that over 65% of whitetails were harvested with a firearm in 2020, which remains steady. https://lnkd.in/gKfmesCJ
