关于我们

The Office of Infectious Disease and HIV/AIDS?Policy (OIDP) provides strategic leadership and management, while encouraging collaboration, coordination, and innovation among federal agencies and stakeholders to reduce the burden of infectious diseases. We work with federal and non-federal stakeholders to develop, coordinate, and implement national strategies and initiatives to prevent infectious diseases. We prioritize health equity and use a syndemics lens across all our work. We strive to ensure our programs and information that we share are accessible to everyone and meet the needs of populations who are underserved and disproportionately affected by infectious diseases. Our health equity work is grounded in respect for all populations, using an inclusive and participatory approach, and in framing health equity as very achievable across our portfolio. The OIDP syndemics lens recognizes that social and structural factors as well as inequities can allow health conditions and diseases to cluster and interact within populations. We use a people-centered approach in our work to foster a whole-person approach to improve health outcomes. Some of the topics addressed by our office include the following: -Antibiotic resistance -Blood and tissue safety and availability -HIV and AIDS -Sexually transmitted infections (STIs) -Tick-borne diseases -Vaccines and immunization -Viral hepatitis The Office of Infectious Disease and HIV/AIDS Policy (OIDP) is located in the Office of the Assistant Secretary for Health (OASH), Office of the Secretary (OS), and U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS).
