Castle halls were filled with talk of advancing disability rights yesterday. The second day of the #G7 Ministerial on Inclusion and Disability, at the Castle of Solfagnano, included knowledge exchange and a closer look at ways to advance people with disabilities on the international stage. “I believe we are at a watershed moment to advance the rights of disabled people where there is a consensus building that ensuring the inclusion of people with disabilities is not only the right thing to do, but it is a necessity for us to build vibrant economies where every person can pursue their life’s ambition. But this is not the work of one meeting, charter, or treaty; it will take at least a generation to fulfill the goals and aspirations of this moment here in Italy” —ODEP Assistant Secretary Taryn Williams, on a panel speaking to international leaders on disability inclusive employment.

Promoting good jobs for people with disabilities, through effective workplace policies, practices and tools
关于我们
The Office of Disability Employment Policy (ODEP) is the only non-regulatory federal agency that promotes policies and coordinates with employers and all levels of government to increase workplace success for people with disabilities. ODEP's mission is to develop and influence policies and practices that increase the number and quality of employment opportunities for people with disabilities. To fulfill this mission, ODEP promotes the adoption and implementation of ODEP policy strategies and effective practices — meaning those that ODEP has developed and/or validated — that will impact the employment of people with disabilities. ODEP's approach is to drive systems and practice changes by disseminating ODEP policy strategies and effective practices, sharing information, and providing technical assistance to government agencies, service providers and non-governmental entities, as well as public and private employers. Our vision is a world in which people with disabilities have unlimited employment opportunities.

#31DaysOfNDEAM Disability-related organizations can cultivate community-wide support for NDEAM by asking their mayor, governor or other officials to formally proclaim the event. A template that organizations can easily customize is available on our website to assist in soliciting such a proclamation (https://lnkd.in/gU-VS47r). In addition, encourage community leaders to mention NDEAM during various public appearances leading up to and during October. #NDEAM #AccesstoGoodJobsforAll #DisabilityEmployment

#31DaysOfNDEAM In schools, faculty advisors to groups such as student councils and student-led media can suggest NDEAM as a possible hook for content during October. For example, a student council might invite a local community leader with a disability to a meeting to speak about his or her experiences. Likewise, student reporters might interview such an individual or write an article/produce a segment on the contributions of many famous people with disabilities throughout America's history. #NDEAM #AccesstoGoodJobsforAll #DisabilityEmployment
