National Women in Roofing (NWiR) is a volunteer-based organization that supports and advances the careers of women roofing professionals, from manufacturing to design to installation, investigation to repair to management, and every step in between. NWiR provides networking, mentoring, education and industry recruitment opportunities from the rooftop to the boardroom, for the young professional at the start of her career to the seasoned manager in the executive suite. Through a commitment to connect and empower women in roofing, NWiR members contribute to the overall betterment and professionalism of the roofing industry. Membership also includes and welcomes men who support the inclusion of women in the roofing industry. Working together, NWiR members are bringing the industry to a new level of excellence by supporting and promoting the contributions of women as an essential component to the future of roofing.

On April 27th, 2024, NWiR Seattle Council got together with Owens Corning, Beacon, Fields Roof Service & Guardian Roofing, Gutters, and Insulation to help a local homeowner get a new roof. Owned since 2018 and inherited from her mom who had lived there since 1981, a single, senior, woman of color was unable to mange the problem herself due to disabilities from a workplace injury. The above mentioned team stepped in on She Build Day and replaced her roof, not to mention a little yard clean up along the way. The rain didn't stop them from giving back to the community. We can change lives when we come together!

When community comes together GREAT THINGS HAPPEN! Rebuilding Day 2024 is around the corner! This year on April 27th, we will be helping Joanne, in East Tacoma, in the home she inherited from her mom who had lived there since 1981. Joanne is a single, senior, woman of color with disabilities from a workplace injury. She’s lived in Tacoma most of her life. She needs help and we are going to deliver it! Our primary focus will be on the roof, which has an active leak. But if we get enough help, NWiR would love to install an exterior handrail for Joanne's safety, and maybe get to some yardwork she has not been able to do. It's up to you. How much help will we have?
