Day 2 and a brand new group of nurses filled the room to ?? Celebrate, Inspire & Network ?? at today’s Unit-Based Committee (UBC) Chair Forum. It was wonderful to see so many gathered together to share their ideas, learn from patient advisors, and bond over evidence-based practices.

We are incredibly proud to announce that Deborah Lee, PhD, ACNP-BC, FNP, CHSE was honored with a lifetime achievement award by MLive Media Group. Dr. Lee is a Clinical Assistant Professor at the University of Michigan School of Nursing. Dr Lee's mother, a nurse of 55 years who retired from ambulatory care family medicine, was in attendance to celebrate this remarkable achievement! ?? Fantastic start to the day on our University Hospital, 7A Adult Medicine unit. Many of our midnight and day shift staff were present to surprise Angelo Ciardella, RN, with a Daisy Award for his calming, compassionate, and outstanding care of a young patient. The patient later named one of her new stuffed animals after him in order to remember Nurse Angelo forever! Angelo had us laughing with his lighthearted humor, even noting that he needed to declare all The DAISY Foundation goodies when he crossed the border to go home (Canada) this morning. ?? Kudos, Angelo - we are so happy for you!
