As the “last mile†in the research-drug development-commercialization cycle, pharma field teams play a critical role. ? I sat down with?Rick Berke?at the recent #STATBreakthrough East Summit?to speak about this important work.?A few key reflections: 1. Last year, Novartis reached over 296 million patients globally. Our company will never meet the majority of these patients. But our customers – HCPs and treatments sites – meet them all. Our commercial sales teams are the bridge connecting our company to our customers. 2. Cutting-edge science requires cutting-edge commercialization, including innovative customer engagement. At Novartis, our?sales teams are not just selling treatments; they are working to provide holistic value that supports each customer’s unique needs. 3. Innovation goes hand in hand with partnering. At Novartis, we are committed to reimagining medicine, together. We have strengthened collaboration?within and across our R&D and commercial teams, while building trusted partnerships with our customers and the wider healthcare ecosystem to ensure our innovation reaches even more patients.
