Joining experts in the field, patients and advocacy partners, our teams recently attended the American College of Rheumatology's Convergence 2024 Conference in Washington D.C., to discuss the latest research and developments in treating rheumatic conditions. Meet Anne Fountain and Lindsay Hall, two Novartis associates from our US Patient Advocacy team, who shared reflections from their experience at #ACR24. “A highlight of my first ACR experience was connecting with patient advocacy partners at the conference to discuss our shared priorities and ultimately pollinate new ideas and projects that will benefit patients,” shares Anne. “The full impact of diseases like lupus or Sjogren’s disease are underrecognized and under characterized, reinforcing the vital role that patient advocacy plays in ensuring that the patient voice is heard to shape the future of rheumatology.” “While we still have a lot of work to accomplish in tackling immunological conditions, I’m inspired by the progress in drug innovation and growth in our basic understanding of these diseases,” shares Lindsay. “My time at ACR has reminded me how complex and debilitating these diseases can become for patients and has reinvigorated me to lean in harder than before in working more innovatively with our patient advocacy partners.” Reflecting on their experiences and what this means at Novartis, it’s a reminder of why we keep patient voices at the center of everything we do as we continuously work to reimagine medicine. #ACR24

When it comes to cardiovascular disease, a key priority of ours is to listen, learn, and collaborate with the most important voices in the fight against this disease— people living with cardiovascular disease, patient advocacy organizations, professional societies, and healthcare professionals. Today in Chicago we brought many of these experts together for an honest conversation about unmet needs and patient support opportunities for those living with #cardiovasculardisease. Thank you to all who participated in this engaging and inspiring session. Together, we can help people living with cardiovascular disease enjoy longer, healthier lives and cherish precious moments with their loved ones. #AHA24 Black Heart Association The Mended Hearts, Inc. This #BreastCancerAwarenessMonth, we are proud to support our advocacy group partners in their efforts to drive meaningful change in the breast cancer community. Our Patient Advocacy Team and Cancer Hope Employee Resource Group (ERG) partnered to host Unite for HER on our East Hanover campus, whose team helped us lead an incredible “Care Box Build” event. Unite for HER supports breast cancer patients across the nation by providing integrative therapies, services, education, resources and more. Their care boxes are designed to help bring balance to patients’ emotional and physical well-being during treatment and beyond. With the help of over 50 Novartis volunteers, we built 500 care boxes – 200 of which were shipped out to patients just days following the event. Boxes contained a variety of supportive items from self-care items to educational materials. Thank you to our Novartis volunteers for your support and Unite for HER for all you do for the breast cancer community!
