It's Colorectal Cancer Awareness Month. Last year, Northside became the first Atlanta hospital to offer GI Genius from Medtronic. It uses AI to help find colorectal cancer.
Northside Hospital physicians are now using AI technology to help find potentially cancerous polyps during colonoscopies. Medtronic says Northside is the first in Atlanta to fully adopt its GI Genius intelligent endoscopy module across its health system. The first procedures using the technology were performed last week. The enhanced screenings can help detect colorectal cancer, which is the third most common form of cancer diagnosed in the U.S.
