Last week, we hosted the Women Who Empower Panel at our Vancouver campus, celebrating Women’s History Month. Staff, faculty, alumni, and students joined moderator Jennica Palecek, Senior Associate at Colliers, and panelists Felicia Bochicchio, Executive in Residence at Inovia and Northeastern Alumna, and Synthia Kloot, Chief Operating Officer at Clark Wilson, for a deep dive into leadership and empowerment. The panel delivered powerful insights, with Synthia emphasizing prioritization and reevaluating commitments to avoid burnout, while Felicia shared her approach to balancing a full-time role with mentorship, highlighting the importance of saying “no” to preserve focus. Their stories of determination and mentorship left attendees inspired, sparking meaningful connections during post-event networking. Northeastern Vancouver student Anson He is developing a wildfire detection device that could make fire detection faster, more accessible, and cost-effective. During his co-op at Bayes Studio, He is prototyping hardware and coding software for a device that mounts on drones to monitor remote forests. His innovation could help power companies and government agencies detect wildfires before they spread.
