  • We are so proud of you!

2025 is looking to be a year of wins! Firstly, I’m so honored to share that my poster presentation was awarded third place best 16Energy student poster at the 105th AMS Annual Meeting. I had such an excellent time sharing my work and having productive discussions with others in the field that day, I’m so grateful for the recognition and this only increases my drive and motivation. Last night, I also had the incredible opportunity to judge science and engineering fair projects at York County School Division’s Science & Engineering Fair. I consider this a win because getting a glimpse of the future scientists of the world left me in awe. The projects at this fair were so intricate and insightful- they have potential to bring positive change! It was almost like a trip down memory lane and I reflected a lot on my own academic growth yesterday. I’m so happy at the direction I’m moving in and I’m looking forward to the future ??

Science and Storytelling with People in Mind

I'm pretty proud of this project. As a part of a leadership training program that I participated in over the last 9 months, I was tasked with completing a capstone project. A long time challenge in my current field has been explaining what it is that we do. I'm a trained meteorologist, but I'm also a trained social scientist where I focus on communication of weather information, how people respond to weather, and how we can better prepare society for the weather in the future. It's a position that most people don't know exists, but it's vitally important. I study and learn about humans and how they interact with weather and forecast information. In short, my job is to learn about YOU, so that our messaging, products, and tools are most effective at meeting your needs. Given my video production and storytelling skills, I wanted to create a video to help others learn about what I do and how NOAA studies humans in order to achieve its mission.
