Arctic Collaboration in Action! The Arctic's changing environment presents unique challenges and opportunities, and a dedicated interagency science team is addressing them head-on. Aboard the U.S. Coast Guard Cutter Healy, a team of NOAA, National Science Foundation, and University of New Hampshire scientists have been hard at work collecting ocean and weather data to advance understanding of this critical region. Their findings will enhance understanding of Earth systems, improve navigation safety, and support informed decision-making in one of the most dynamic areas on our planet. Let's talk?boundaries! Did you know the Exclusive Economic Zone (#EEZ) is more than just a line on the map? This important boundary extends 200 nautical miles from the U.S. baseline, marking the region where the U.S. and other coastal nations hold jurisdiction over natural resources. It lies just beyond the 12 nautical mile territorial sea and overlaps the 12-24 nautical mile contiguous zone. Understanding these boundaries helps us better manage and protect marine resources. Teams used advanced hydrographic surveys to ensure safe navigation, collaborating with the U.S. Coast Guard and Army Corps of Engineers.
