Our “Policy & Ethics of AI” panel was all about how we navigate the ethics of AI within public policy, government, and university settings. Thank you, JoAnne Breese-Jaeck, Dr. Devansh Saxena, Ph.D., Dr. Melissa Shew, and Dr. Linnea Laestadius, PhD, MPP for sharing your insights. And shout out to Dr. Michael Zimmer for moderating this session and co-hosting the symposium!

We kicked off our first panel of the day moderated by Dr. Anju Gupta. Thank you to our panelists for “Ethics of AI in Practice,” including Lauren Domnick, Dr. Nadiyah Johnson, Dr. Zeno Franco, PhD, and Kevin Ziegler. We learned about various challenges of ethically applying #AI across each of their industries and communities, as well as the importance of having these critical conversations and the roles we can all play in advocating for fair and ethical uses of AI.

Thank you Dr. Alondra Nelson for a thought-provoking discussion on "How to Govern the Future" as part of our AI Ethics Symposium today, where we learned that in order to steward the outcomes we want for these powerful new technologies, we must reframe the challenge of #AI and use the existing tools we have while being innovative and building mechanisms for change.
