    "?????? ?????? ?????????????? ???????????? ???? ?????????????? ???????? ?????? ??????; ?????? ???? ???? ??????????????." ???????????? ???????????? I borrowed this concept from Kranzberg: "???????????????????? ???? ?????????????? ???????? ?????? ??????; ?????? ???? ???? ??????????????." Melvin Kranzberg is known for his laws of technology, the first of which states "???????????????????? ???? ?????????????? ???????? ?????? ??????; ?????? ???? ???? ??????????????." Kranzberg (1917 – 1995) was an American historian who taught at Case Western Reserve University from 1952 until 1971 and Georgia Tech from 1972 to 1988.

???????????? ?????????????????? ???? ?????????????????? ?????????????? ????????????????????: ?? ???????????? ???? ???????????? ?? Over the past 10 years, public opinion has shifted significantly on mandatory minimum sentencing in the U.S. ?? In 2013, 71% of Americans supported eliminating mandatory minimums for nonviolent offenses. ?? By 2018, that number rose to 75%, reflecting growing bipartisan support for reform. ?? In 2023, support remained strong at 64%, despite shifting crime concerns. ?? Why does this matter? ?????????????????? ?????????????? ?????????????????? ???????? ???????? ?? ?????????????? ?????????? ???????????? ???????? ??????????????????????????, ???????????????????????????????????? ?????????????????? ???????????????? ?????????????????????? ?????? ??????-?????????? ??????????????????. ???????? ?????? ???????? ????????????, ???????????????? ?????? ?????????? ???????? ?????????? ????????: ? Fail to deter crime (certainty of punishment matters more than severity). ? Lead to unjust outcomes (judges lose discretion in sentencing). ? Contribute to prison overcrowding and high costs with little benefit. ??? Legislative and Policy Shifts: ?? The First Step Act (2018) reduced certain federal mandatory minimums and expanded judicial discretion. ?? At least 25 states have reformed or repealed mandatory minimum laws in recent years. ?? Bipartisan coalitions (from the ACLU to the Koch network) continue pushing for sentencing fairness. ?? What’s next? While the movement for reform remains strong, recent concerns about crime rates have led to renewed debates. The key question remains: How can we balance justice, public safety, and fairness in sentencing? What are your thoughts? ?? AI is automating basic development. But here’s the catch: understanding system architecture, business logic, and how to leverage AI for real-world impact is what matters most. The question isn’t who can code—it’s who can think, ask the right questions, and execute. If you’re hiring, don’t just look for coders. Look for business strategists who know how to use AI as a tool. #AI #TechLeadership #BusinessStrategy Orpical Technology Solutions

To add content and opinion to my book, I am conducting an extensive research study (survey) of criminal justice system professionals, including judges, criminal defense attorneys, public defenders, prosecutors, and attorney generals. The opinions of these professionals are as wide as the overall concerns. For example, one reply from a professional to an open comment question is: The jury system is fair. It is a copout for public defenders to claim that their losses are due to funding, cases, and being overloaded with responsibilities. Despite public belief, prosecutor's offices are not overflowing with funds. However - another reply is: Public defenders have a heavy burden because they have very little time, money, and emotional ability to zealously represent clients in cases involving serious, life-altering crimes with real victims. However, there is also a need to recognize that public defenders still represent guilty individuals, and the taxes of US citizens shouldn't be used to allow for the most highly advanced, costly defense tactics available because this is not what the 6th Amendment guarantees. Interesting.
