Green Bay Area Public School District and Northeast Wisconsin Youth Apprenticeship (NEWYA) in the News!
Check out this success story from Fox 11 News featuring James, a Green Bay East High School senior who works as a youth apprentice at Robinson.
The YA program at Green Bay Schools continues to grow:
In the 2021-22 school year, GBAPS had just 15 youth apprenticeship participants. This year, 339 are partnered with 254 local employers.
"What we’re really trying to do is help students make very strategic and intentional decisions while they’re in high school so they have a clear career trajectory as they graduate. In many cases, our students do career exploration, and they have, in fact, found something they are passionate about and want to do as a career after they graduate." - David Gordon, CESA 7 YA Coordinator.
