UF Lastinger Center's free reading program that mails books & resources to eligible VPK-5th grade students in Florida.

New Worlds Reading is Florida's free at-home reading program for eligible VPK-5th grade students to develop their literacy skills, build their reading confidence, and foster a lifelong love of reading. Eligible students receive monthly deliveries of free books and reading activities each school year through fifth grade, for a total of nine free books per year. Families can apply at www.newworldsreading.com. New Worlds Reading was created and funded with unanimous support by the Florida Legislature under the leadership of House Speaker Chris Sprowls, and was signed into law in 2021. The University of Florida Lastinger Center for Learning, which designs education innovations for children and educators, serves as the state-appointed administrator of the project.
