#UNIDOSWeCelebrate Latin American & Hispanic Heritage Month! SPOTLIGHT ON: Roxy Steiner On October 8th Roxy will be celebrating 16 years at NetApp, having started as a Support Account Manager and now serving as a Sr. Director, Chief of Staff to the Chief of Customer Success Officer. "Growing up with a father in the US Army meant living on various military bases nationwide. While this was an incredible experience, as a Latina, I missed out on being close to extended family and having the opportunity to be fully immersed in the Tejano culture. I used to prioritize fitting in over embracing my heritage, which I didn't connect to my personal or professional identity. However, embracing my roots has become a transformative journey. Joining UNIDOS has allowed me to bond with others from the Hispanic and Latin American community, giving me a profound sense of belonging.??Knowing who I am and the gifts from my heritage has made me a stronger, more compassionate leader. It has taught me the value of diversity and the strength that comes from our unique stories.?Serving as the chair of Unidos has enabled me to share my experiences and empowered me to lead authentically." ?? Sharing this great video by UNIDOS Executive Co-Sponsor Maria Murillo, as she rings in #HispanicHeritageMonth! ?? Today marks the start of #LatinAmericanandHispanicHeritageMonth. At NetApp, we celebrate Latino and Hispanic cultures, which reflect a growing tapestry of identities, traditions and communities around the world. As one of the executive sponsors of NetApp’s #UNIDOS Employee Business Resource Group,?I am excited to take this time to celebrate the heritage, achievements, and opportunities of my community. As someone that lives both cultures, I feel fortunate every day. ? While #HispanicHeritageMonth is a time to celebrate the food, music, art, and culture of Hispanic and Latino communities, we can’t end the conversation there. Our globally diverse community is a driving force for economic growth and culture in the Americas and beyond. Yet, Latino representation in the tech sector continues to fall short. We need to celebrate the unique perspectives of the Hispanic and Latino people in our lives?AND?in our workplaces. We need to ask the “why” and “where” we need more of these voices along with other under-represented communities among us. Afterall, succeeding in a world of data begins with diverse teams of people who reflect the full diversity and rich perspectives of our world. ? Thank you Elizabeth O'Callahan, and all of the NetApp UNIDOS community and our allies as we help build a culture of equity, inclusion, and belonging for all.
