The University of Nebraska-Lincoln has been named to the "Top 50 Undergraduate Entrepreneurship Programs of 2025" List with The Princeton Review and Entrepreneur Magazine! Spearheaded by the Nebraska Center for Entrepreneurship and in collaboration with the Clifton Strengths Institute, Engler Agribusiness Entrepreneurship Program, Jeffrey S. Raikes School of Computer Science and Management and the Johnny Carson Center for Emerging Media Arts, the ranking represents the outstanding entrepreneurial ecosystem on campus. “The Nebraska Center for Entrepreneurship is proud to be at the heart of this effort, driving innovation and empowering students to build, create and lead. We often say, 'Entrepreneurial success starts here,' and our center is a great starting point for everyone to get connected to the resources and people who can best help them. CREATIVITY??RESILIENCE??BOLD RISKS...that's what being an entrepreneur means to Yamen Seanwan, a senior business administration major and member of the Nebraska Entrepreneurship Accelerator. His journey began with the launch of Prime Rig, an innovative marketplace for vehicles, which he plans to expand into other categories using cutting-edge technology such as augmented reality. His advice? "When you have a dream, the most important step is to wake up and take action. It's not enough to dream; you must set feasible goals and work towards them with dedication and perseverance." Looking ahead, Seanwan's goals are centered around the growth and success of his business. He is always open to collaboration, brainstorming sessions, and partnerships with other businesses and entrepreneurs. Entrepreneurship isn’t a solo sport. Last week at Nebraska Center for Entrepreneurship’s Mentorship Roundtable, I had the chance to sit down with students from seven different University of Nebraska-Lincoln colleges alongside a group of incredible mentors - Mike Dunlap, Tristen Metcalf, Les Robbins, Doris Robertson, Christie Stukenholtz, Jeff Tezak and Lizz Whitacre. ?? We covered everything from leadership to personal growth to what it really takes to build something from the ground up. But here’s what stood out—these students didn’t have to be there. They showed up days before spring break because they were hungry to learn, to ask the tough questions, and to put in the work. That says everything. Sometimes all it takes is a conversation with someone who's been in your shoes. Entrepreneurship is a journey that should not be made alone. At Nebraska Entrepreneurship, we surround our students with resources, including people–entrepreneurs, innovators, alumni–who can serve as mentors, coaches and guides in their journeys. At Mentorship Roundtable last week, students from seven different University of Nebraska-Lincoln colleges connected with a great group of mentors over topics like leadership, personal growth, entrepreneurial careers and business ownership. In the wise words of Ethan Munson: "There is no perfect idea or decision when starting a business. Keep moving forward." Ethan is a senior entrepreneurship management major and a member of the Nebraska Entrepreneurship Accelerator. Getting involved has been a game-changer for Munson. "The advice I would give to students pursuing entrepreneurship is to always move forward and not be afraid to take risks. Get involved in the entrepreneurship ecosystem as early as possible. I wish I had gotten involved during my first year here," he said. The support, resources, and connections he has gained through the Nebraska Center for Entrepreneurship and the Entrepreneurship Accelerator have propelled him forward in his entrepreneurial journey. As he looks toward the future, Munson is excited to continue growing his business, MyOwnNIL, and making a positive impact in the world of sports. His journey at UNL has provided him with the tools and knowledge he needs to turn his ideas into reality. Dustin Clonch ('02), co-founder and CEO of Agilx, is joining Foundations of Entrepreneurship (ENTR 321) students in class today! Agilx develops custom software solutions for customers around the world. Founded in 2011 in Lincoln, the company has grown to a team of 13, many of them University of Nebraska-Lincoln graduates. We're excited for the students to learn from a local, alumni founder today.
