As more distributed energy resources (DERs) are integrated into the electricity grid, understanding the value of DERs is essential. Much of the work I will be doing as a Valuation Associate at E4TheFuture is focused on the National Energy Screening Project (NESP). The mission of NESP is clear: to improve cost-effectiveness screening practices for DERs. NESP joins organizations and individuals with a common interest in improving cost-effectiveness assessment - also referred to as benefit-cost analysis (BCA) - of DERs. A useful way to highlight the pillars of #EnergyEquity: https://lnkd.in/gnS57Stj Interested in how the pillar of Distributional Equity Analysis can be applied? A case study is underway in Illinois to demonstrate the use of a decision framework for assessing impacts of electric and gas resource investment decisions on disadvantaged communities, and to inform decision making. Work Group participants raised questions on key metrics such as job creation in eligible communities -- a key part of the CEJA* legislation -- and how jobs and economic development could be considered.
