The mission of the institute is to engage undergraduate and graduate students with faculty in research that will further the understanding of business and economic principles, as well as their impact on regional, national, and international financial conditions and the well-being of society. To advance its mission, the PERI will engage in research and educational programs which uncover the institutions and policies that encourage and enhance human well-being. Events PERI faculty and staff engage in outreach efforts to inform students, academic and public policy professionals, and the general public about PERI research, teaching programs, and other initiatives. Faculty, staff, and invited guest deliver public lectures and participate in conferences, seminars, and other events around the world. Research The PERI develops and executes several initiatives to serve its mission of researching and understanding business and economic principles. These initiatives include Institute-sponsored research programs, research workshops and editorial leadership for scholarly journals and popular publications. Student Programs The PERI awards fellowships to promising graduate and undergraduate students. Our doctoral students seek to become researchers and teachers at other domestic and international institutions. Fellows collaborate on research and teaching projects with affiliated faculty and seek to develop original research projects.
