Watch legendary architect Bernardo Fort-Brescia describe his design process for our residential development in St. Petersburg, FL! -- The Residences at 400 Central Arquitectonica’s principal architect, Bernardo Fort-Brescia, met with Red Apple Group leaders — Founder, Chairman, and CEO John A. Catsimatidis Sr. and President and COO John Catsimatidis Jr. — to take in the evolving building and discuss their shared vision that it should reflect the personality of St. Petersburg, a city on the sea. “The building is designed almost like a ship, it has the curved in corners,” Fort-Brescia said. “It is not just architecture for the land, but almost naval architecture meant for the sea. The fluid shape is meant to be a frictionless form that is floating towards the ocean.” Anticipated to be one of the tallest residential buildings on the west coast of Florida, The Residences at 400 Central will soar 515 feet above downtown St. Petersburg’s vibrant Central Avenue. Fort-Brescia especially appreciates that 400 Central covers two aspects of Florida life: the waterfront views and the energy of the city. “Youll be able to come down from the peaceful upper floor to the vibrancy of the city beneath, youre right on central avenue,” Fort-Brescia said. “I really like that duality, you have the city and you have the view in one building.” There is a palpable joint appreciation of St. Petersburg across the minds behind the design.
