A few weeks ago, Valencia (Spain), birthplace of paella, experienced devastating flash floods. A sudden surge of rainstorms hit the region with intense force, taking the life of over two hundred people and destroying hundreds of homes and businesses. Also, not forgetting Anushka Nair '25, who will be doing her MISTI Global Teaching Labs in Scotland this IAP 2025! ?? "Living and working in Denmark has not only allowed me to grow as the wind energy expert I am learning to be. It has also increased my awareness about the importance of a good work-life balance and urged me to place collaboration at the heart of all my future professional projects," Wilhem shares about his internship during the summer of 2022 at the Wind Research Center and the Technical University of Denmark (DTU Wind). One of the many ways CIS creatively addresses the world's most pressing problems is by helping MIT faculty build research collaborations around the world through our MIT Global Seed Funds (GSF) program. Together these teams are empowered to push the boundaries of scientific discovery, nurture global connections, and shape a more interconnected and collaborative world. A total of 107 international research projects received more than $2.6 million in funding for the 2023-2024 cycle. These projects were selected from among 226 proposals submitted by faculty and research scientists across the Institute.
