关于我们
Manufacturing USA was created in 2014 to secure U.S. global leadership in advanced manufacturing by connecting people, ideas, and technology. Manufacturing USA institutes convene business competitors, academic institutions, and other stakeholders to test applications of new technology, create new products, reduce cost and risk, and enable the manufacturing workforce with the skills of the future. The Manufacturing USA network is operated by the interagency Advanced Manufacturing National Program Office, which is headquartered in the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), in the Department of Commerce. The office operates in partnership with the Department of Defense, the Department of Energy, NASA, the National Science Foundation, and the Departments of Education, Agriculture, Health and Human Services (HHS), and Labor.

The image of a fully automated, human-less factory often dominates discussions about the future of manufacturing. But is that the reality we're heading towards? ? At this year’s?SXSW?conference in Austin, TX, representatives from four Manufacturing USA institutes discussed just that during their “Factories of the Future” panel session. Moderated by Suzy Teele (ARM Institute), panelists Jeff Winter (CESMII), Dr. Maria Curry-Nkansah, MBA (EPIXC), and Kathie M. Leonard (Advanced Functional Fabrics of America (AFFOA)) explored how far the U.S. has come with manufacturing technology, the critical role human workers will play in manufacturing facilities over the next two decades, the increasing importance of using data to streamline processes, and how these are obtainable, even for small manufacturing companies. #AdvancedManufacturing #MFGUSA #SXSW #FutureFactoriesSXSW

As we continue our celebration of ten years of Manufacturing USA, we are shining a spotlight on PowerAmerica, the wide bandgap semiconductor institute devoted to innovative power electronics products and systems. Also celebrating 10 years, PowerAmerica is playing a key role in what institute Executive Director and Chief Technology Officer Victor Veliadis calls “the electrification of everything” by developing super efficient, high-powered semiconductors based on silicon carbide (SiC) and gallium nitride (GaN) technologies. Using these semiconductors in power applications such as electric vehicles, grid and renewables, industrial motor systems, consumer electronics, and data centers will have a huge impact on energy security. “We can make semiconductor chip fabrication successfully, and in an economically viable way, here in the United States. We have the data and the body of work to prove that,” Veliadis says. Learn more about what Veliadis envisions in the electrified future PowerAmerica will help shape over the next 10 years. https://lnkd.in/euZGXrYi #AdvancedManufacturing #Semiconductors #ManufacturingUSA #PowerAmerica

As Manufacturing USA celebrates our 10th anniversary, we shine a spotlight on the first manufacturing innovation institute, America Makes. Since its establishment in 2012, America Makes, the National Additive Manufacturing Innovation Institute, has been a driving force in advancing additive manufacturing (3D printing) and building a dynamic ecosystem of government, academic, and industry stakeholders. This model of public-private collaboration is a hallmark of the Manufacturing USA network. ? Beyond driving innovation in additive manufacturing, America Makes is tackling critical challenges in traditional industries. For instance, it recently explored how 3D printing can transform casting and forging operations — strengthening supply chains, enhancing design flexibility, and bolstering national defense. ? Discover how America Makes continues to build on its legacy and read what Executive Director John Wilczynski envisions for the institute’s next decade: https://lnkd.in/ewqNw2kV #AdvancedManufacturing #ManufacturingUSA #AmericaMakes #AdditiveManufacturing
