?? MEXA's 2nd Hackathon: Mental Health & AI is underway! As this post is being written, there are 135 participants from 41 countries, forming 24 teams, diving headfirst into the intersection of mental health and AI. The mission? To explore how Large Language Models (LLMs) can safely make mental health care more efficient, effective, and accessible. Teams are tackling challenges like: ?? Developing specialized models that act as therapeutic agents. ?? Envisioning new methods for collaboration between AI, trained mental health professionals, and patients. ?? Addressing key gaps to make AI-assisted interventions safe, ethical, and impactful. A core principle of this hackathon is engaging Lived Experience expertise. By working closely with individuals directly impacted by mental health challenges, participants are ensuring their solutions are shaped by the priorities of those who will benefit the most, while maintaining the highest standards of safety and ethics.
