Swati Sengar, Partner at McKinsey, moderated a dynamic CEO panel at FICCI's Women in the Workplace Summit and Awards. The panel, featuring leaders like Dr. Sangita Reddy from Apollo Hospitals, Anant Goenka from FICCI, Sulajja Firodia Motwani from Kinetic Green, Shradha Suri Marwah from Subros Ltd, and Ruchi Kalra from OFB Tech. The discussion focused on tackling the critical issue of women's underrepresentation in the formal workforce. Key insights emerging from the panel: - An inflection point emerges for women in the workforce:?Emergence of new skills in high demand fields like electric vehicles, robotics in medicine, and software development are turning the tide, with organizations prioritizing skills over gender - Shifting social fabric:?While progress has been made, it still has ways to go. Women often need ambitions beyond financial freedom to stay in the workforce. - Organizations are stepping up:?The private sector is reinvesting in leadership development by partnering with premier institutions - providing mentorship programs for women re-entering the workforce, providing essential care support, and actively challenging biases in hiring. - Conscious leadership:?CEOs as “conscious leaders” are pivotal on this journey to parity - they listen actively, role model, and drive meaningful change. A collective and conscious effort is needed on the path to parity and in unlocking the full potential of women talent in the workforce. #DiversityAndInclusion #WomenInTheWorkplace #WomenInLeadership
