Meet Materials Matter Certified ?? Our new standard aims to set clear, measurable goals for outcome areas such as biodiversity, soil health, waste reduction and transparency, bringing together materials under one unified framework, empowering brands, producers, and recyclers to make impactful choices from the very beginning of the supply chain. In 2024, after releasing the pilot version and testing it in the field, Textile Exchange is excited to formally unveil our redefined standards system, under its new name and logo, providing a global certification model that is deeply connected to the unique contexts of producers and processors, as well as their local communities and landscapes. Using learnings from the pilots, we are now working to refine criteria for the final version of the standard which will be published next year. Building on 20 years of innovation and leadership, Textile Exchange has redefined its approach to meet current industry demands. The new standard is the culmination of the organization’s work to strengthen its focus on impacts on the ground, putting climate, nature, and the farmers, animals, and people that produce our fibers at the heart of the system. Together, let’s build a more responsible textile industry. Find out more https://lnkd.in/epFJGPrk → ?#materialsmatter

Introducing the Materials Matter Standard: a new precedent for sustainable raw material production and processing. Our goal? To incentivize a system in which the materials in our clothing and textiles support the climate, respect human rights and animal welfare, and drive beneficial outcomes for soil health, water, and biodiversity. “The new Materials Matter Standard is more than a certification; it’s a commitment to creating a future where every material tells a story of positive impact — for the planet, for communities, and for ecosystems.” – Claire Bergkamp, CEO, Textile Exchange.
