On Wednesday, we had the privilege of celebrating two HMI alums get honored at this year's Five in Flight, hosted by Kennesaw State University - Michael J. Coles College of Business. Both Faisal Saleem and Brandie Szuda were awarded the GOLD (Graduate of the Last Decade) Award! They are exemplary representations of our program, and we could not be prouder of them! Congratulations, and keep moving the needle and being a force for good in the Digital Healthcare space! In their speeches, both Faisal and Brandie attributed their success to the support system around them, in no small part played by Sweta Sneha, PhD, who's dedication to HMI is a testament to our students' success both academically and professionally. We'd like to take a moment and congratulate Maranie Brown, MBT for presenting this afternoon at this year's Cole's Research Symposium. Her presentation was called "Training & Curriculum at the Intersection of Cybersecurity & Healthcare," and she spoke about data governance as it pertains to healthcare related systems and information. Kudos to Maranie and her faculty mentor, Maria Valero! This past Friday, the MSHMI program hosted our faculty and students for an MSHMI Research Retreat! For 5 years, the HMI program has supported our faculty by offering Fellowships that help support these research opportunities that they showcased to our students. Along with that, for the entirety of the almost 10 years that the MSHMI program has been in existence, we have supported over 80 Graduate Research Assistantships. The MSHMI Research Retreat opportunity for the faculty to present this ongoing research and engage with our students outside of a classroom setting. Big shout out our wonderful faculty for always being involved and going that extra mile for our students! In August, we had the pleasure of hosting one of our most recent alumnus, Joy Ihedioha, MSHMI, and her colleague Morgan Taylor, for an information session for the WellStar Administrative Fellowship, where they spoke a little bit about the fellowship and how our students can get involved. The MSHMI program always aims to nurture #studentsuccess by providing these opportunities for our students.
