This day honors the significant gains made by women in pursuing pharmacy careers and their important contributions to patient care. Women currently occupy 62-75% of the pharmacist workforce, according to Pharmacy Times, and we're proud of our team's role in helping others through their knowledge and expertise! #americanpharmacistsmonth

On National Student Pharmacists Day, we'd like to give a big shoutout to our current interns Sirri Petra and Jay Patel! ? Sirri is a third-year Doctor of Pharmacy student at Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine and is expected to graduate in June 2025. "I was drawn to medicine from a very young age, but I was never sure which particular field I wanted to go into until someone dear to me got severely ill, and I found myself researching their medications. I am so grateful and excited for the opportunity that Masonic Village Pharmacy has given me to learn about the different aspects of long-term care." ? Jay is a third-year Doctor of Pharmacy student at Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine who is also graduating in June 2025. "I’m thrilled to be back at Masonic Village Pharmacy for my Advanced Pharmacy Practice Experience (APPE) institutional rotation. This experience provides an excellent opportunity to apply my academic knowledge in a real-world healthcare setting, collaborate with a talented team and continue growing as a pharmacy professional. I’m eager to contribute to patient care and gain deeper insights into long-term care pharmacy operations.” #americanpharmacistsmonth

On World Pharmacists Day, we celebrate Masonic Village Pharmacy's nine pharmacists, as well as pharmacists around the world, for their crucial role and responsibility in fulfilling and improving patient health and safety, as well as society's overall welfare. Thanks to everyone who attended the East Central Pennsylvania Association for Professionals in Infection Control & Epidemiology (APIC) meeting today, held at the Masonic Conference Center - Patton Campus in Elizabethtown. Masonic Village staff pharmacist Adam Gockley, PharmD, covered our antibiotic stewardship program and how to safely optimize antibiotic use. We appreciate all attendees for their time and attention to this important topic.

Thanks to our?interns, Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine pharmacy students Mukta Bhatnagar and Sirri Petra (center l-r), shown with Jennifer Graybill, personal care administrator (l), and Donald Brindisi, pharmacy manager (r), for administering flu vaccines to our residents in the personal care area. This important step will provide invaluable protection in the coming months.
