Lucid Diagnostics is a commercial-stage medical diagnostics company focused on cancer prevention, particularly for patients at risk of esophageal cancer. A subsidiary of PAVmed Inc., Lucid Diagnostics has developed innovative, non-invasive technologies to detect esophageal precancer in patients with gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), a condition known to increase the risk of developing esophageal cancer. The company’s flagship products include the EsoGuard? Esophageal DNA Test and the EsoCheck? Esophageal Cell Collection Device. These tools are designed to detect esophageal precancer and enable early intervention before the disease progresses to esophageal cancer. EsoGuard, for example, uses next-generation sequencing to assess DNA methylation, identifying key biomarkers associated with precancerous conditions. In addition to its clinical technologies, Lucid has also expanded its reach with mobile testing units and partnerships aimed at increasing access to early screening. The company continues to make strides in intellectual property, recently securing a new patent to further protect its EsoGuard technology, which strengthens its position in the early cancer detection space. During LSI USA ‘24 we had the pleasure of sitting down with Chairman & CEO, Lishan Aklog, MD, for a Studio Interview to discuss how Lucid Diagnostics is revolutionizing the early detection and prevention of esophageal cancer. The full interview is available on our website and YouTube channel. Want to join us for a Studio Interview at LSI USA ‘25? Reach out to our team today while space is still available.

Bionic Vision Technologies is focused on restoring functional vision to the blind with its revolutionary implantable system. Retinitis pigmentosa (RP) is a debilitating genetic disorder leading to irreversible blindness. There are no viable treatment options for RP patients today. Bionic Vision Technologies (BVT) has developed a revolutionary solution in the form of the Bionic Eye System, the first-ever suprachoroidal visual implant. To date, the company has conducted two clinical trials using first and second-generation systems, involving seven patients. These trials have demonstrated safety and efficacy of the BE system, and positive outcomes in patient mobility, device stability, and durability. The device utilizes cameras mounted on glasses to capture visual information, which is then translated into electrical signals to stimulate retinal cells. These signals facilitate the delivery of visual information to the brain via the optic nerve. The company has been granted FDA Breakthrough Designation for its system and is currently aiming to commercialize a 3rd-generation system. During LSI USA ‘24 we had the pleasure of sitting down with CEO & Managing Director, Dr. Ash Attia, for a Studio Interview to discuss how Bionic Vision Technologies is restoring functional vision to the blind. The full interview is available on our website and YouTube channel. Want to join us for a Studio Interview at LSI USA ‘25? Reach out to our team today while space is still available.
