Founder of Mid-Career Mastery?. LinkedIn Top Voice. Speaker. Thought Partner. On a mission to empower the "magical middle" to thrive in the AI era. Formerly @ HBO, Turner, Citi.

? #COMEBACK — Why It's Never Too Late to Win in the Magical Middle. The NCAA ?? tournament has started—and already, we're reminded of something powerful about the game of life and careers... ???? It’s never too late for a comeback. Just like the team that's behind at halftime, but rallies to win... Your mid-career and midlife seasons are your moments of resilience, reinvention, and rewriting your story. Many of us in what I call the "magical middle" sometimes feel the clock is running out. That we haven't reached the goals we've envisioned—professionally or personally. But here's why there's truly "magic" in the middle, and why halftime is primetime: ? You've gained wisdom from experience. ? You've learned resilience from setbacks. ? You possess insights only time and trials can teach. In sports, we celebrate the teams who never surrender. Who never give up. Who reframe their mindset, tap into deeper meaning, and maintain relentless focus on their milestones ahead. Why not you? This phase of your life and career isn't your plateau... ???? It's your pivot point toward a purposeful path ahead. This isn't the time to wind down. It's the time to ramp up. Because the stories we remember most are about the teams that came from behind, defied the odds, and went on to win. Right now, you're at halftime. Right now, you're teeing off on the back nine. Right now, this is your moment of mastery—to comeback, thrive, and win. Let's go! ?? #MarchMadness #MidCareerMastery #midcareer #midlife #MasteryMap

Oversharing is more common than you’d think... but it has a cost. In the moment, it can feel like sharing more will build trust faster… But trust and connection are built gradually – one layer at a time. Social psychology researchers (like Collins, Miller, Sandstrom & Dunn) have found that while most people love talking about themselves, oversharing too soon can actually backfire and weaken the relationship. You want to ease in. It’s called disclosure reciprocity – You share a little, they share a little. You share more, they share more. It’s a mutual rhythm that deepens trust step by step. The key is to match the depth of what you share with the level of trust that’s been built in the moment. Don’t rush it. Pace the conversation so both of you feel respected and seen. (and importantly, if you don’t know if you can trust the person, don’t share anything that can be used against you) That’s how meaningful relationships are formed. P.S. So tell me, are you an over-sharer? (I’ve been known to trust a little too quickly...) #communication #socialintelligence

It's not a matter of how AI will change business in the future--AI is already changing things. Ling Hai President, Asia Pacific, Europe, Middle East & Africa at Mastercard, is focused on the ways AI is impacting cybersecurity, in particular. Teamwork DOES make the dream work… It’s cliché, but as Brianna Arps discovered it rings true for a reason. After being laid off from her job as a beauty editor, Arps decided to turn her crisis into an opportunity, channeling her life-long love of scents into building a fragrance company. She went to work on developing her product, conceiving packaging and even coming up with a name for the venture: Moode Beaute. Everything was going great. Until it wasn’t. A third-party trademarked the name just two weeks earlier. Arps took a 48-hours to lick her wounds, regroup and came up with a new name: MOODEAUX?. But she also came away with a new appreciation for leaning on a team that brings a variety of skills to the table. You need to have people in your corner who are proficient in areas that you're not," she told Catalyst. "You need to have people in your corner who can take things off your plate when it's too full." "And you need people in your corner to tell you when you're going down the wrong path." How do you approach leveraging the talents of your team? Share your insights in the comments below!

Keeping some of your presentation unscripted can help break barriers without undermining credibility, says Cisco developer advocate Erika Dietrick. Would you try this? Share your thoughts in the comments. ?: Ruiqi Chen

Tech should be fun! | Developer Advocate @ Cisco | Follow my journey in AI & cybersecurity | @erika_thedev

I don't rehearse the first thing I'll say in a presentation. Here's my philosophy ?? I spend a lot of time crafting the story I want to tell, choosing my words carefully so that I'm not rambling, wasting time, or confusing people, and (*ideally*) rehearsing my presentations. ...When I walk in, I typically know that the message will come across clearly because I've went to great lengths to plan that. However, I also know that a conference: - my audience has had to sit through many presentations already - my audience will feel a very direct distinction between "them" (the listeners/learners) and "the speaker" (the so-called expert) I want to break those things down immediately when I start a talk. "Erika why would you want to break down them thinking you're the expert?" It's not so much that I want to undermine my expertise, and it's moreso that listening to presentations is a passive, disconnected exercise that can become boring or even intimidating. By making a brief, unscripted joke or humanized comment, my goal is to break the barrier between us. With the barrier broken, they will feel (a little) more relaxed to engage with me and have fun, and I set the tone that this is the start of a conversation and relationship with just another human. This is one reason that many of my audience members have continued the conversation with me afterward. What about you? Are you Team Scripted or Team Unscripted? Let me know in the comments!

How can business leaders help their employees stay ahead in our evolving world of work? As AI continues to transform industries, adaptability has become a must-have skill — which is why it ranked No. 3 on LinkedIn’s list of Skills on the Rise, which highlights the 15 fastest-growing skills right now. Companies and professionals alike are prioritizing the ability to navigate change, upskill, and stay ahead as the workplace continues to shift. Former PwC Global Chair Bob Moritz shares three key steps the firm took to help employees assess their current skillsets—?and build the ones they’ll need next: 1?? Self-assess against in-demand skills.? 2?? Provide opportunities to upskill.? 3?? Make the time to learn. “If you don’t give them time to learn, and then apply that learning, that’s a problem,” Mortiz said. “If you’re gonna give them a chance to learn, you’ve gotta give them a chance to apply that learning.” How else can leaders best prepare their teams for the future of work? Weigh in below. To see what other skills are in-demand today, you can see the full list of Skills on the Rise here: https://lnkd.in/SkillsontheRise25US. #SkillsontheRise
