For Chris Rubio, M.S., a Link Parks property manager based in Southern California, #NationalLatinxHispanicHeritageMonth is an opportunity to celebrate his identity as a first-generation Mexican American. Raised in different regions of Mexico,?Chris’ parents introduced him to multiple aspects of their culture—including the signature burritos from his father’s hometown, which?Chris?claims are “some of the best in the country.”?Chris?stays connected to his roots by listening to traditional music, taking annual trips to Mexico with his wife and honoring holidays such as Día de los Muertos.?? ? “My heritage has shaped me into the person I am today,” says?Chris. “It’s helped me view life and the world from different perspectives. When my wife and I have children, we hope to keep them connected to our Mexican roots so they can enjoy all the great things our culture has to offer.”? ? #NationalHispanicHeritageMonth

As #NationalHispanicLatinxHeritageMonth continues, we’re kicking the ball over to J. Suarez, M.S., Link Parks’ director of Marketing, who stays connected to his heritage by cheering on the Colombian national soccer team. He spent most of his childhood in Colombia before moving to Florida at age 12, but returned often to visit relatives and enjoy pandebono, a regional cheese bread. Currently residing in California with his wife,?J. is happy to see his culture’s global influence through sports and music.? ? “It’s cool to see people across the world connect with our culture even if they don’t speak our language,” says?J. “The exposure creates a unique opportunity for folks to learn more about who we are. We are a significant, growing population in the U.S., so I think it’s important to highlight our contributions to society.”? ? #NationalHispanicHeritageMonth #WeAreLinked #PeoplePowered
