?? AI for Social Good: Empowering Micro Enterprises at MIT Crossroads 2025 ?? This week, I had the incredible opportunity to deliver a keynote at the Crossroads 2025 Conference at MIT Center for Transportation & Logistics presenting on a topic close to my heart: “#AI for #MicroEnterprises: Driving #Innovation, Growth, and #SocialImpact.” The session explored how AI and #MachineLearning are transforming #micro-retail ecosystems in #developingcountries. By designing AI-powered solutions tailored for thousands of micro firms, we are not only driving innovation and improving business performance but also enhancing access to essential goods for the #bottombillion. It was inspiring to share how cutting-edge technology can be a force for real, lasting social impact. A special acknowledgment to my incredible research team—especially our PhD and Master’s students Fábio Castro,Andrés Camarillo, Marie Fillon, Junyi Sha—who worked tirelessly behind the scenes to bring our live demos “Lupita” and “CuantoTengo” to life. Despite all the WiFi shutdowns during the presentation (yes, it happens! ??), their dedication ensured we could showcase how AI-driven solutions are empowering #smallbusinesses in even the most challenging environments. For those interested in learning more about our research and projects, visit our MIT LIFT Lab website https://liftlab.mit.edu and explore the work we are doing to create technology that truly makes a difference. We welcome collaborators, sponsors, and partners who share our vision for AI-driven #InclusiveGrowth. And, of course, I can’t forget the lighter side of the event! My good friend Jim Rice had the entire audience laughing when he joked that I was celebrating my 30th birthday—a flattering (yet optimistic) assessment of my real age. Thanks for the invitation, my friend! The future of AI for micro-enterprises is here, and the impact is real. Let’s build it together! ???? #AIforGood #MicroEnterprise #AIInnovation #SocialImpact #TechnologyForAll Massachusetts Institute of Technology Victoria Arnold Maria Jose Chiang Rebatta Yael Cervantes Camilo Mora Martin Staadecker Fabiola Vásquez PhD
