Recently we visited?Health Care District of Palm Beach County's Trauma Hawk program at their state-of-the-art facility at Palm Beach International Airport. Operating two?Leonardo Helicopters?AW169s which are crewed by pilots from the Health Care District and a medical team from?Palm Beach County Fire Rescue, they provide critical life-saving care to residents and visitors of Palm Beach. At over 2,300 square miles it is one of the largest counties by area in Florida. With such a large area Trauma Hawk helicopters are vital in ensuring transport for patients within the “Golden Hour”. The Leonardo Australia Operators Conference took place on the Gold Coast from 19-21 November, offering attendees an in-depth look at in-country capability development and a comprehensive overview of key product enhancements. Topics covered included operational capabilities, #safety improvements, #training programmes, reliability, and upgrades to the #HUMS (Health and Usage Monitoring Systems) for the #AW109, #AW139, #AW169, and #AW189 helicopters. Throughout the event, speakers emphasised technological advancements and the growing importance of detailed data analysis in enabling critical flight data review and fostering a culture of continuous improvement in #helicopter operations. Thank you to Dr. Doug Floccare, Emergency Medicine Physician at the Maryland State Police, and Jay Mazzone, Director of Operations at #TraumaHawk (Health Care District of Palm Beach County), for their insightful presentations on the critical role of #HEMS operations, in which they underscored how their respective organisations rely on our products to support their daily missions.

From 19-22 November, Leonardo participated in the Saudi International Maritime Forum in Dammam, #SaudiArabia. During the event, we showcased our cutting-edge naval mission capabilities, with a particular emphasis on the NATO Frigate Helicopter (#NFH), the naval version of the #NH90 helicopter, Europe’s largest military helicopter programme. The NFH is equipped with advanced anti-submarine warfare (#ASW) systems, making it ideal for naval operations. The #NH90 is already well-established in the region as part of #Oman's fleet and, more recently, #Qatar’s fleet. Thanks to its unmatched versatility, it supports a diverse range of missions, including search and rescue (#SAR), maritime surveillance and control, special operations, counter-terrorism, and anti-piracy. Managed by NHIndustries, a partnership between Airbus Helicopters, #Leonardo, and Fokker Services Group, the NH90 features an advanced composite airframe, a spacious cabin, an excellent power-to-weight ratio, and extensive mission-specific equipment. #SIM2024

The first #AW169 #helicopter for #Canada has been delivered to support emergency medical service (#EMS) missions in #BritishColumbia, with the remaining six scheduled for delivery by January 2025. We are proud to collaborate closely with our partners LCI, Babcock Canada Inc., Ascent Helicopters Ltd., and BC Emergency Health Services to deliver essential services to local communities.
Breaking?news: LCI is expanding its fleet with seven state-of-the-art Leonardo Helicopters AW169s, specifically configured for emergency medical services (EMS). ? These helicopters will be leased to Babcock Canada Inc., a global leader in critical support services and subcontracted by Ascent Helicopters Ltd. to provide EMS operations across British Columbia on behalf of BC Emergency Health Services.?They are being placed in LCI's joint venture with Sumitomo Mitsui Finance and Leasing Company, Limited. ? Nigel Leishman, Chief Commercial Officer of LCI, says: “LCI is honoured to support the important roles that Ascent and?Babcock?are playing in the expansion of vital EMS operations in British Columbia.
