Wy Do We Do What We Do?

Making movies for women to wake their moxie!
When bogged down by everyday 'stuff,' it becomes nearly impossible to remember why we do what we do in the first place…
What I loved about Hourglass, the short film written/directed by our very own Bela, is that it explores that very topic. It encourages us to look at our lives through a different lens. When it comes to life in LA, for instance, it’s easy to forget why so many of us left our hometowns and loved ones… moving out here to chase after our dreams. Monthly bills, inflexible day jobs, and the infamous LA traffic — all contribute to that, sometimes making it feel pointless to go on.
But… each day does present so many reasons to remember why we are where we are! We just have to pay attention. Creativity is not a one-way street, but rather, made up of avenues and boulevards of exploration. It’s about finding ways to extract the best from each day, and see the adventure in every endeavor (even while running late, stuck in the worst LA traffic). Develop the skill to live each day to its fullest, approaching it like a fun challenge, instead of another set of hours loaded with 'stuff.'
Our heroine is given just minutes to find the one thing that makes her life worth fighting for and, she quickly shifts. Suddenly, the very reason why she is where she is begins to reveal itself, reminding her that the noise of everyday life is… just that. Noise. And we have the power to turn it off any time we want to.
Don’t lose sight of what that reason is for YOU — it’s why so many talented people pack up and give up. Instead of waiting for a life or death ultimatum like our heroine Ana, just be the badass you’re meant to be. ~ Beta
