In many applications, our customers desire to add a touch panel or front cover glass to the LCD solution. Conventional adhesive methods leave a small air gap between these layers creating internal reflections which results in diminished display performance i.e. poor contrast, low color saturation, etc. A solution to this challenge is to utilize an optical bonding process, which eliminates the air gap by affixing the LCD panel to the top layer with a UV curable liquid adhesive.?As a result, it dramatically reduces the amount of interface reflections. Welcome back to #TechFromCES. Today we feature the High-Definition Aerial Display from Kyocera’s booth at #CES2025! The High-Definition Aerial Display is a cool product. It uses specially placed mirrors to make the high-definition image appear as if it is floating above the screen. As well there are sensors to track hand movements and eye positioning to allow for contactless motion-activated interface experience. At CES we demoed the product as an autonomous driving navigation concept, but it is also expected to be leveraged in museums and medical fields as well! Kyocera Haptivity Another exciting CES has come to an end, but the excitement continues with Kyocera’s haptic feedback technology, Haptivity.?Haptivity is a technology developed by Kyocera that simulates the feeling of pressing a physical button on a touchscreen or other seamless surface.?It uses piezoelectric elements that both detect pressure and generate vibrations in a small form factor.?When a certain pressure is applied to the screen, the piezo electric element vibrates, creating a tactile sensation that mimics the click of a button. Some of the key features and benefits of Kyocera’s Haptivity include providing a realistic button feel, improved useability, versatility and the potential to improve safety by preventing accidental touches in safety critical environments like automotive touchscreen applications. Kyocera, in partnership with Covestro, demonstrated at CES the advantages of our cutting-edge haptic feedback technology in the compact Kurama demonstrator.
