The 2025 KSU-TAPS season is shaping up to be our best yet, and we’re already seeing teams fill up fast! Every year, TAPS challenges farmers, industry professionals, and researchers to test their skills in real-world farm management, making decisions that impact profitability, efficiency, and sustainability. Curious about KSU-TAPS? Here are a few frequently asked questions: ?? Who can be on a team? Teams are farmer-led, but members can be from anywhere —family, employees, advisors, or industry partners! Last year KSU-TAPS had competitors from 24 Kansas counties and eight states! ? How much time does it take? Not much! Think of it as a micro-learning experience—just 15-30 minutes a week. You’ll get: ?? Emails with tips, updates & research ?? Access to ag technology ?? A private TAPS portal to enter decisions ?? What’s the prize? Yes, you’re competing for cash, but the real value? During the 2025 Kansas Stockmen’s Dinner, the K-State College of Agriculture proudly awarded Eldon Gideon with the Medal of Excellence for his outstanding service, leadership and philanthropy. With over 75 years of dedication to agriculture, Eldon has impacted K-State and Kansas’s agricultural community. From his early days in 4-H and FFA to his contributions as a livestock producer, educator and community leader, Eldon has worked closely with K-State faculty and participated in numerous Extension programs. As a leader in the Kansas Livestock Association and American Hereford Association, Eldon helped shape agricultural education and practices in the state. His commitment to supporting youth and preserving Kansas’s agrarian heritage continues to inspire future generations. Congratulations to Eldon on receiving the Medal of Excellence.
