Congratulations to Matthew Mircovich and his team at Arizona State University for their new publication on "A practical theoretical model for Ge-like epitaxial diodes; Matching the experimental optical responsivity in pin devices". This work centered on developing a model that provides a simultaneous realistic description of the I–V characteristics and responsivity of pin diodes made of Ge-like #semiconductors. The top oxide thickness for the individual diodes was determined using a Filmetrics? F40 #spectralreflectometer to measure optical reflectance in the visible–UV range. Metrology Solutions for Labs & Fabs-Profilers, Nanoindenters, Film Thickness & Sheet Resistance Tools, Defect Inspectors
关于我们
The Instruments group at KLA offers a large portfolio of stylus and optical profilometers, nanoindenters, thin film reflectometers, sheet resistance measurement tools and Candela? defect inspection systems. www.kla.com/instruments KLA Instruments' line of optical and stylus profilers offer a complete range of surface metrology capabilities for engineering and research communities. Our benchtop and automated profilers are designed to measure step height, film thickness, form, texture and automated defect inspection. We also offer high-throughput nanomechanical testers for material characterization. With flexible add-on and upgrade options, our nanoindenter systems can be used hardness, Young’s modulus, adhesion and more. Our affordable UV to NIR spectrometer systems measure thin film thickness from 1nm to 13mm, optical constants, and deposition rates of thin films. Candela? inspection and metrology systems support power device manufacturers, RF communications, LED and hard-disk manufacturers with process control and increased yield. We had a great time at yesterday's #MaterialsScience Workshop at Electron Microscopy Innovative Technologies, LLC (Emit, LLC) in #EastHartford, CT. Live #metrology presentations and demos from Bryan Crawford and Rahul Nair of #KLAInstruments covered #opticalprofilometry, #nanoindentation, #sheetresistance, #filmthickness and #filmstress measurements, discussing the #ITO use case. It was also great to meet so many materials science researchers and spend time with our EMIT and Thermo Fisher Scientific pals Drew Griffin, Neal Magdefrau, Kate Vanderburgh and Joseph Dorsheimer Can't wait to do it again!

Dr. Yipu Du and his team at the University of Notre Dame have developed a novel technique for "Autonomous Aerosol and Plasma Co-Jet Printing of Metallic Devices at Ambient Temperature". This co-jet printing (#CJP) method integrates an aerosol jet and a non-thermal, atmospheric pressure plasma jet to enable concurrent aerosol deposition of metal nanoparticle inks and in situ sintering at ambient temperature. This work utilized the Filmetrics? Profilm3D? to measure the thickness of the printed inks and shows that sensor devices can be printed onto thermally-sensitive materials, including plant leaves - wow! A new publication from A.V. Taran and teams at the Kharkiv Institute of Physics and Technology, National Academy of Medical Sciences of Ukraine, Dnipro City Clinical Hospital No. 16, National Centre for Nuclear Research and V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University analyzed various properties of #ZrTaN coatings on #endoprosthetic hip joints. This work, "Functional ZrTaN Coatings for Acetabular Component of Hip Joint Endoprosthesis" used the Nano Indenter? G200 to measure hardness and elastic modulus of the ZrTaN coatings under evaluation. Click here to access the full paper: https://bit.ly/4brGzJC
