Last Thursday, February 27, marked ten years since the assassination of Boris Nemtsov, a prominent Russian politician and opposition leader. A vocal critic of Vladimir Putin, Nemtsov condemned Russia’s illegal annexation of Crimea and the war in Donbas. He was gunned down a few steps away from the Kremlin, and his death became a turning point in the Putin regime’s crackdown on opposition and dissent in the country.
