WHAT CAN I DO WITH AN INTERIOR DESIGN DEGREE? I think most students typically think that they need to work in a commercial or residential interior design firm when they graduate from interior design school but I have seen so many students in my 20+ years of teaching who go on to other fascinating and joy-filled careers that may surprise current students. I am going to add some below but if you have other journeys you would like to share, please do so in the comments. Lighting design, yacht design, cruise ship design, set design, exhibit design, furniture design, working at showrooms, working with furniture or product stores or manufacturers, product representatives, staging, working with facilities management, architectural photography and of course my own personal favorite . . . teaching the next generation of designers. : ) What have I missed?
