IWERC was proud to be part of this year's educator shortages report, alongside Illinois State Board of Education and Illinois Association of Regional Superintendents of Schools. This report brings together two annual data collections: the Unfilled Positions data (ISBE), with district data on filled and unfilled positions, and the Educator Shortage Survey, with district leader perceptions on shortages. This year found a slight easing of the shortage in both data collections. It also reiterated key facts about the shortages: that they are experienced differently based on geography and content area. Not all districts have shortages, and shortages are more severe in certain content areas. Learn more here: https://lnkd.in/gRhp4cT6

Nice mention of our work with Latino Policy Forum on multilingual learners in early childhood. Speaks clearly to the need for a developmentally appropriate screening process for young children, which is being developed and tested for usability as part of our project. https://lnkd.in/gMEXJZEt
