The International WorkBoat Show is a wrap! Monday night we kicked things off with our 9th annual Norway Maritime (Marine Night Live) networking reception, with over 250 invited industry partners and customers. The following Wednesday, Innovation Norway Americas and U.S. Commercial Service, alongside Jones Walker LLP, co-hosted our first ever Norway/US Maritime Industry Outlook panel discussion. Corvus Energy GIS Engineering, LLC Kongsberg Maritime and Maritime Partners, LLC dove into topics like the current state and future of the maritime industry/shipbuilding trends, port infrastructure, and offshore wind developments…as well as their thoughts on the impact the new administration might have on all of these topics. There are so many questions still unanswered, but one thing was very clear: we need to work much closer to become more advanced, cleaner, create value, and be more attractive to new/young talents! Brazil and Norway: Research and Innovation for the Energy Transition ???????? From November 4 to 6, the November Conference 2024 in Rio de Janeiro brought together over 250 researchers, industry experts, students and policymakers to accelerate solutions for a more just and sustainable energy transition. Organized by Innovation Norway and the University of Oslo, the conference has, for over a decade, been a key platform for Norwegian and Brazilian collaboration on energy transition research and innovation. With 16 plenary and parallel sessions, attendees explored challenges and opportunities in renewable energy, decarbonization, advanced industry technologies and societal and environmental questions. Highlights included sessions on Solar power, Hydrogen, Offshore wind, Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS), and on how the energy sector can come into line with the UN Global Biodiversity Framework. The November Conference remains an essential event to foster stronger partnerships and inspire new projects across both nations. On Oct 29th, the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency awarded nearly $3 billion to 55 recipient projects in 27 states and U.S. territories.
