Sollum Technologies Partners With Foliaj Farms For Indoor Farming Operation in Indiana Foliaj Farms, a new indoor farming venture in Muncie, Indiana, is utilizing Sollum Technologies’ dynamic LED lighting solution to power its operations. Under the leadership of first-time grower Bill Reece, the large-scale warehouse will cultivate leafy greens such as lettuce, kale, and herbs in a fully controlled environment optimized by Sollum’s innovative lighting system. “We’re excited to see Foliaj Farms adopt our solution,” said Matthew Bonavita, Sollum’s Vice President of Sales. “Bill’s commitment to growing a variety of crops in an efficient and sustainable way aligns perfectly with what our dynamic lighting offers. This achievement underscores the company’s commitment to sustainability, innovation, and year-round food production for Quebec. The company’s expansion includes a 65,000-square-foot gutter-connected Luminosa greenhouse complex, developed through its longstanding partnership with Industries Harnois | Manufacturier de serres commerciales et MegaDome, a leader in high-performance agricultural infrastructure. “Working with Harnois Greenhouses has transformed our approach to cultivation,” said Steve Bertrand, Co-Owner of Leciel. “By growing in greenhouses, we’ve significantly reduced our pesticide use and can offer high-quality local production to Quebecers year-round. FreezeM & Agroloop Hungary Collaborate on Decoupled Insect Farming Model FreezeM Ltd, known for its Black Soldier Fly (BSF) breeding technology, has partnered with Agroloop Hungary Ltd., a European insect farming company, to launch a decoupled insect farming model. Traditionally, BSF protein production combines breeding and production within a single facility, but this approach has posed challenges, including high operational costs and scalability limits. Under the new collaboration, Agroloop will rely on FreezeM’s PauseM? breeding-as-a-service solution, which supplies pre-counted and life-cycle suspended BSF neonates. These units allow Agroloop to streamline operations, reducing risks and enabling a focus on converting organic side streams into BSF-based products such as protein, oil, and fertilizer. Orbia’s Netafim & Bayer Expand Collaboration with New Digital Farming Solutions Netafim, a division of Orbia’s Precision Agriculture business, and Bayer announced an expansion of their strategic collaboration, beginning with new digital farming solutions tailored for fruit and vegetable growers. The new solutions focus on simplifying data collection and creating tailored recommendations, enabling growers to optimize crop production and resource use while reducing environmental impact. Growy Opens 8,000m2 Vertical Farm in Singapore Growy has announced the official opening of its new vertical farm in Singapore, marking its transition to full-scale commercial operations. The 8,000m2 facility is one of the company’s most significant projects to date, supplying fresh greens to meet the needs of Singapore’s food service sector. The farm currently delivers 34 products to more than 40 hotels and restaurants in Singapore, offering a diverse selection of microgreens, herbs, and baby leaf varieties. Among the offerings is the Singapore Salad Mix, a product designed in collaboration with local chefs to reflect regional preferences in flavor and presentation.
