This new tool, developed through a project led by IMF Capacity Development and IMF CCAMTAC, helps in better policymaking and supports the annual national budget formulation with a comprehensive outlook for the Uzbek economy. ?? Additionally, the IMF’s PortWatch platform, launched in November 2023, is revolutionizing how we monitor and respond to maritime trade disruptions. ?? IMF Headquarters welcomed 39 participants from 38 countries for our two-week Macroeconometric Forecasting and Analysis (MFA) course, organized by the IMF Capacity Development Institute. This intensive program covered essential topics such as Autoregressive Integrated Moving Average (ARIMA) Models, Non-stationarity and Unit Roots, Vector Autoregressive Models (VAR), Structural VAR (SVAR), Bayesian VAR (BVAR), Cointegration, Forecast Evaluation/Combination, Nowcasting, State Space Models, and the Kalman Filter. How can countries in Southeast Europe improve Taxpayer compliance? Are there good practices which can be replicated in other countries? These questions are being addressed at a regional seminar in Ljubljana, Slovenia, focusing on enhancing taxpayer compliance across Southeast Europe. Participants from Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, Montenegro, North Macedonia, and Serbia will partake in workshops, discussions, and presentations over the next three days, aimed at improving their understanding of effective Compliance Risk Management (CRM) practices. They will further consolidate the community of practice already established in June 2023 and share experiences among individual tax administrations aimed to refine CRM processes. This community of practice on CRM has proven effective in fostering collaboration between the revenue administrations of the region. This event will cater to various CRM maturity levels across revenue administrations, focusing on enhancing compliance concerning the Digital Economy It will include presentations on specific challenges faced by participants, ultimately aiding the SEE program’s goals to strengthen tax administration functions by improving risk management practices, and ultimately increasing revenue mobilization to address critical public needs. The workshop is implemented with the support of the European Union European Commission and the State Secretariat for Economic Affairs of Switzerland SECO Economic Cooperation and Development , in cooperation with the?Centre of Excellence in Finance?(CEF). The European Union Delegation in Conakry and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) have signed an agreement to support Public Financial Management (PFM) reforms in Guinea. Through this project, the IMF will assist the Guinean authorities in strengthening PFM functions and practices, with a focus on program budgeting and the further roll-out of climate and gender budgeting, fiscal reporting, and fiscal risk management.
