Using as an inspiration how the natural carbon and nitrogen cycles operate, we seek environmental remediation and?sustainable production?technology. Our aim is to help restore the ecosystem by capturing dissolved CO2 and nitrates from seawater, pollutants responsible for ocean #acidification and #eutrophication that harm wildlife, disrupt the ecosystem balance, promote the bloom of disease-causing bacteria and viruses and ultimately, jeopardize our health. Also, our solution is circular, aiming to transform those captured chemicals into useful industry products such as urea - the most relevant fertilizer precursor for agriculture and farming - , and many other applications such as plastic or drug manufacturing. ?? https://iconicproject.eu/

Transforming Waste to Value ?? More than 30 representatives from eight projects met at the annual meeting for the #EUeic funded portfolio on “CO2 and Nitrogen Management and Valorisation”. The eight initiatives - CONFETI Project EU, DAM4CO2, #ECOMO, HYDROCOW, ICONIC, Mi-Hy, MINICOR, and SUPERVAL - SUstainable Photo- ElectRochemical VALorization of flue gases - are formed by multidisciplinary teams from universities, research and technology organizations, as well as small and medium-sized enterprises ?? ? Collectively, these projects have embarked on a common mission to pool their resources and expertise to transform pollutants and waste into energy and value-added products, in an economically and environmentally sustainable way.
